In a bid to get as many vehicles out to customers before the end of Q3, Tesla is offering a free door-to-door delivery service this week called Tesla Direct. Depending on which Tesla you buy, free Supercharging may also be included as an added bonus.

We are into the final week of Q3 and Tesla is desperate to sell as many cars as possible, which is why a new delivery service has been introduced called Tesla Direct. There’s also a good chance you could score free Supercharging again.

As Electrek reports, in a bid to get as many Model 3 and inventory vehicles sold and out the door, Tesla introduced a new service called Tesla Direct this week. It means you can opt to have your electric car delivered for free to your home or office. The car will be driven to you by a Tesla Customer Experience Professional.

It seems Tesla has quite a few inventory cars to sell, these are cars that have been produced without a custom order attached. As well as the offer of free delivery instead of having to pick the car up from a delivery center, Tesla is thought to be offering referral codes for free Supercharging. The catch being you have to buy an inventory Model S, Model X, or the Performance Model 3 to get it. Non-performance Model 3 inventory vehicles qualify for one year of free Supercharging. These offers only last until the end of September.

It’s interesting to see how quickly Tesla’s focus can change when it needs to. Most of 2018 has been spent trying to increase production, but now it’s all about selling as much of existing inventory as it can before the end of the quarter. In the meantime, those increases in production rate will continue to pump out tens of thousands of new cars, with Elon Musk clearly hoping by the end of Q4 Tesla is setting new records.

What’s unclear right now is what happens to Tesla Direct once this week is over. It’s a nice service to offer, but an expensive one to offer for free.
