“With this expansion, PS Vue now offers more than 450 local ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC stations, in cities all over the US – from Buffalo, N.Y., to Honolulu, Hawaii,” PS Vue Vice President Dwayne Benefield wrote in a Tuesday blog post. “As we gear up for football season and Fall TV premieres, now over 97 percent of the US population has access to at least one major broadcast station from ABC, CBS, FOX, and/ or NBC.”

The expansion comes after Sony late last month raised the price of all multi-channel PS Vue plans by $5. That brought the base “Access” plan to $45 a month.
“Unfortunately, we must increase the price of our multi-channel plans to keep pace with rising business costs and enable us to continue offering a better way to watch the best in live sports, entertainment, and news,” Benefield said at the time.
Meanwhile, Sony also this week launched a PS Vue ESPN College Extra package of eight channels offering “the country’s best regional college games and matchups from top conferences, including football, basketball, and baseball throughout the college sports season.” That package is now available to all Core, Elite, and Ultra subscribers.
PS Vue is available on streaming devices such as PS4, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku as well as PC, Mac, and mobile devices. The service earned an “excellent” rating in PCMag’s review; we praised its “broad channel selection,” “simple setup,” and “unlimited 28-day, cloud-based DVR.”
“The PlayStation Vue live streaming service from Sony is a good way to cut out your cable company while keeping plenty of channels available,” Reviewer Will Greenwald wrote.
