Everything Leaving Netflix in September

Say farewell to summer with the best Batman flick, an amusing romantic comedy, a creepy classic, and a cadre of other movies leaving the streaming service next month.

How can Netflix make the end of summer feel even worse? By losing a bunch of your favorite movies and shows, which you probably didn’t get around to watching, because you were too busy being outside and enjoying the nice weather! I kid, I know you were watching GLOW.

What is saying farewell? Sure, there are a few not-quite classics like I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, which is probably responsible for all the Adam Sandler and Kevin James content on Netflix. It’s leaving promptly on Sept. 1. A Disney Pirates of the Caribbean movie called Dead Man’s Chest is also gone, but for the life of me I can’t remember which of the five Captain Jack movies this is, and I’m too sad to go look it up.

Why so sad? Because, along with those go some real classics like Scorsese’s Casino, the documentary Man on Wire, and the horror duology The Descent, which is creepy good times. It’s enough to make you want to go to Hulu and Amazon Video and the paid TV services-turned-streamers to see if any of those films will be showing up there. (Spoiler alert: they probably will.)

Here are our picks for the flix you should try to binge quick before they leave; the full list is below.
